Great food, especially the Hamburger Steak. Best in the area!! One of the best in the state! Get it with onions and enjoy. Their Apple Crisps are great to go along with the Hamburger Steak. I encourage you to try this small, out of the way, BBQ Joint (Dive Place)!! Service is normally really good!
Dang good bbq. Ribs are delicious, tender. Apple crisps are great. Ribs and 2 sides w/water, $9.50. Staff very friendly and helpful. There house sauce is very good.
I used to come here as a girl with my grandfather, and in past 30-40 years the decor has changed very little and thankfully neither has the food. The BBQ still has that wonderful vinegar bite and the BBQ beans a taste of brown sugar and molasses. It was great to go back to a place where so many good memories were made to find it still the same.
It's ok, but I have had better. BBQ pork is more chopped than pulled, sauce is very tasty.
We just happened upon Hancock's by luck. We LOVED the BBQ AND also loved the atmosphere. Priceless. We bought a container of the BBQ sauce and WE ARE IN BBQ HEAVEN. We are almost out of the sauce and, because we live north of Chicago, I plan to contact the owners to see if they could ship some to us. We love it that much.
